Our values

In the UK, 45% of the total carbon emissions are produced by the construction environment. The average new-build house emits 50 to 60 tonnes from the manufacture, transport and assembly of the materials, known as Embodied Carbon.

The operational emissions of a typical dwelling built today will then go on to emit a further 5 tonnes of CO2 on average per year. Resulting in around 200 tonnes of CO2 by 2050.

In summary:

  • 39% of all carbon emissions in the world are caused by the building and construction industry.
  • 28% of these emissions come from the energy used to heat, cool and light buildings.
  • the remaining 11% are from carbon associated with the materials and construction processes throughout the whole building life cycle.

Together with our partners, our shared values of mitigating these unsustainable yet factual stats concerning the built environment, with the shared vison of a new, green, local and circular infrastructure.
